To custom develop a single design for your fashion brand ranges between $5,000-$15,000+ excluding manufacturing costs.

This depends on complexity and includes all necessary steps (Basic Consulting, sketches/techpacks, patterns, grading, samples, sized samples).

To start a successful clothing brand with  2-3 items to begin, between development, supplies, production, general business costs (registering your business, business professionals such as lawyers, accountants), websites, marketing etc.  Expect to require a minimum 50K.

There are many other pathways to starting a clothing business that are much less expensive. We cover this in our Apparel Discovery Course, currently taking registrations for COHORT # 3 beginning February 3, 2024.

We can work virtually without a problem.

We have the capacity to develop a broad range of garments in multiple types of fabrications.  This is the area that we perform best.

At this time, we only work with companies that are looking for a full development experience (from concept to prototypes) unless they have the experience of having successfully produced two full seasons of their brand prior, we do not provide a la carte services.

We also do not produce one offs unless these are for celebrity appearances.

We only develop for companies that intend to commercially produce and sell their products.

At our studio, Sustainable Fashion is at the core of our values. We take pride in the sustainability and transparency that we can guarantee within our operations. With a 100% Canadian-based staff, we ensure that all items created in our studio embody the principles of Sustainable Fashion, from design to development (excluding fabrics and supplies).

However, it's important to acknowledge that we cannot extend this assurance to the decisions our clients make independently, or guarantee the complete sustainability and transparency of other providers they choose. We are more than happy to recommend suppliers who align with our commitment to Sustainable Fashion. Still, it remains the client's responsibility to ask the right questions, conduct their due diligence, and perform thorough research regarding the components used in their sustainable fashion products.

At our studio, we pride ourselves on offering low MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity) production services to our valued full development clients. We understand the importance of flexibility and adaptability in today's market.

For clients who wish to provide their own patterns from outside sources, we require a minimum of 2 seasons' worth of approved patterns before offering in-shop production services. These patterns must be in a digital format; otherwise, we will need to digitize and digitally grade them to ensure precision and quality.

Within our studio, the minimum MOQ for in-house production typically ranges from 30 to 50 units, with the exact quantity determined by the nature of the product and the intricacy of cut and sew processes. We understand that some clients may require even lower quantities, and we're here to accommodate those needs, although it's important to note that such lower quantities may be subject to a higher price point due to the specialized attention they require.

Product development for emerging fashion brands creating new collections is a distinctive process.

The timeline for fashion brand creation and product development can range from 6 to 18 months and is contingent upon the extent of preliminary research and groundwork performed by the client beforehand.

We have a limited number of meet-and-greet appointments each month, and our primary focus is on ensuring a good match before moving forward.

Ensuring the confidentiality of our fashion brand clients is paramount to us, and we adhere to the highest standards of professionalism and business ethics.

You won't find any client disclosure on our website, and we never randomly share this information. Our commitment to safeguarding the privacy of our clients is a priority.

It's worth noting that within our industry, divulging client names or showcasing them on a public platform can potentially compromise the essential trade secrets and unique aspects of our clients' fashion businesses.

However, we do have clients who are willing to serve as references, and once we've conducted a meet-and-greet and presented you with a proposal, we can provide you with references. Your trust and confidentiality are of utmost importance to us in the fashion brand development process.

Yes, we service both private brands (custom design collections) and private label (generic styles for branding). We do not hold stock, however, do have styles that we own, which we can cut and sew with your label.

Know that we only provide items that are made with approved fabrics, produce them in our own studio (so these are made ethically in regards to labour standards).

Know that this reflects pricing and these items are considered higher price point items.

MOQ ranges between 30-60 pieces per style/colour/fabric

Sourcing fabric and notions takes a lot of time and effort.  When working with clients on full development projects,  we are always happy to recommend suppliers that we believe will be helpful to them.

Requests for custom sourcing and selections/consulting is now billed as a separate package ranging from $250 and upwards of $5000+ depending on the items required.

We quote product development as a package. We do this by breaking down each step into known steps and combine them to provide clients with a preferred rate.

NEW START-UPS:  WE HAVE MOVED AWAY FROM INDIVIDUALIZED SERVICES AND ONLY PROVIDE FULL DEVELOPMENT PACKAGES FOR START-UPS.

INDIVIDUALIZED SERVICES (EX: ONLY PATTERN MAKING, ONLY TECH PACKS) ARE AVAILABLE FOR BUSINESSES WHO HAVE SUCCESSFULLY PRODUCED A MINIMUM OF 2 SEASONS PREVIOUSLY ON THEIR OWN..

Colour Alchemist Canada Inc. does work with start-up companies (companies that have not completed 2 full seasons are still considered newbies).

Start-ups must be registered companies (this includes sole proprietors, incorporation not required).  Start-ups must also be clear as to their target market and desired projects. We require that this process be completed on your end PRIOR to working with us.  Should you be a START-UP that needs further clarification, we are happy to set up a paid consultation or provide you information on our new APPAREL DISCOVERY COURSE that is now taking registration for Cohort # 3 beginning February 3, 2024.

This program is created for those who are unclear as to what direction they are wanting to go with their fashion/apparel business.

Those interested in the Apparel Discovery Program DO NOT have to have a business to take this course, as this course is designed to provide CLARITY if starting a fashion business is FOR YOU.

The reason being is that start ups take a considerable amount of nurturing and instruction to ensure that they succeed.

We pride ourselves on serving our clients to the best possible capacity and have a strong value in being supportive to our clients.

Our limited intake also ensures that our current existing client community continues to be served.

When selecting which companies, we wish to work with, we choose carefully.  Being a good match for each other benefits both parties in the end.

We hope that you take this diligence to do the same.

BEGINNING IN 2024, WE WILL BE REDUCING THE AMOUNT OF START-UPS WE WILL WORK WITH.
