Hello there! I’m so glad you’ve stopped by.

If you’re here, you’re probably searching for a fashion development partner in Canada who truly gets it—someone who can help bring your brand to life with care, clarity, and creativity. Well, you’re in the right place. I’m Martina Carello, founder of Colour Alchemist Canada, and I’d love to share what we’re all about.

How It All Started

It started with studying fashion design and marketing and working my way through years of learning and perfecting my craft, from 1992 and never stopping.

I started working with clients privately in 2014 and officially opened the Colour Alchemist Canada Brand in 2017, my goal was simple: to create a fashion design studio in Calgary that didn’t just deliver garments—but truly partnered with people. With over 30 years in the fashion manufacturing industry, I’ve seen how overwhelming and impersonal the process can be. I wanted to change that.

So I built a team, all working together to support designers, startups, and growing fashion brands across Canada. We specialize in developing fantastic product and helping you understand what you need to know fast, effectively and with a produced line in the end.

What We Do Differently

At Colour Alchemist Canada, we don’t believe in cookie-cutter fashion. We don’t use pre-made or stock pattern blocks. Every garment pattern is created from nothing but a single straight line. What this means is your product is exclusive, your design is proprietary, and your brand is protected with full intellectual property ownership. We don’t start with “blocks” because generic blocks don’t work for niche products.  Patterns are always drafted 100% by yours trully.  So I know exactly what is in there and I create it to make sure that when it hits the production floor, it's made with cost effective processes without sacrificing quality.

I’ve also developed a proven, step-by-step development roadmap to help new brands go from concept to production—confidently and efficiently. Whether you’re launching your first collection or scaling your production, I’ll guide you through the entire process.  A process that you can replicate over and over again with a proven outcome.

Here’s What Makes Us Stand Out

Bespoke Patterns, Every Time – Every product is uniquely developed from the start to match your brand’s identity.

Exclusive Design Ownership – You own your patterns and designs, giving you full creative and legal control.

Structured Product Development Pathway – A clear, transparent process from idea to finished garment.

Transparent & Honest Communication – If we can’t do something, I’ll tell you—and connect you to someone who can.

Unmatched Expertise – Our combined 100+ years of fashion industry experience ensures your product is built with precision and care.

Built on Referrals & Relationships - Most of our clients find us through word of mouth—and that’s something I’m incredibly proud of. It means our clients trust us, value our work, and feel confident recommending us to others in the fashion community.

Let’s Create Something Beautiful Together

Whether you're building your brand from the ground up or looking to elevate your existing fashion line, Colour Alchemist Canada is here to help. We’re more than a service—we’re your creative partner, your production guide, and your biggest supporter.

Ready to start your custom apparel journey? Get in touch—I’d love to hear your story and help you create something truly remarkable.

The first step to making sure we’re the right fit.  This is called compatibility.

As much as I would LOVE to help everyone who comes my way, the truth is—I’m not always the best match for every project, and that’s okay. Not every client is the right fit for our brand either.

We’re passionate about working with people who share our mission: building relationships, creating sustainable businesses (and by sustainable, I don’t just mean eco-conscious or ethical labor—I mean building businesses that are still thriving five years from now), and developing purpose-driven, niche products.

Sometimes, there are easier or more cost-effective paths for generic-style products—and if that’s the case, I’ll be honest about it. I’ll tell you before you spend a dollar, so you don’t waste your time or money.

That’s why our Meet and Greet is so important. It’s the first step—a free 15-minute call. And here’s what I hear most often: whether people choose to move forward with me or not, they walk away with insight they can use on their journey.
